Starting to think I may be leaning on @GoLandIDE a bit too much. Like, I'm taking on refactors way bigger than I'm usually comfortable with and in some case thinking "I can do this later instead" too.
Bad habit.

FWIW, I regularly “sketch” out refactorings and just park them in a branch. It’s playing with modeling clay: you can always ball it back up and try again later. Further, just because you like the draft doesn’t mean you’re obligated to move forward with it.

Having the tools and understanding which afford such flexibility is a real plus, though! Code is just a means to an end, which is why I’m always grateful for tools that help me think and act more expressively with code, especially when it comes to refactoring.
