I think it's important that people talk about their shit childhoods for their own sake and for the sake of people with similar experiences. But as a (far less important) side-effect, it makes me appreciate my good one and helps me understand how it probably colors my beliefs.

You know, it took me till my late 30s and moving to the other side of the world to realize how close my sister and I were growing up! I wish I had more appreciation for that growing up :) When I’m back in Australia, she is the one I spend the most time with now :)
