Tbh probably not having the first idea of how a login system actually works. To them, it just happens, and they go with it. Like magic.

Probably the logical conclusion of entering a username and password into a website, that that website must know your username and password. They’re probably thinking of websites as people they trust, which isn’t a bad idea, but complicated when it comes to stuff like this.

I think maybe it is just irritating that you need a user name and password for every site and game and whatnot anymore. Back in the old days of the internet you could look around at things without filling out an ten page application (yes I exaggerated)

how new of a concept is it? I grew up with computer labs (apple iiies, but still), i'm not sure what the precursor for login credentials in software is, though. I can't think of a physical equivalent from before multi-user software. spy counter-signs? nothing very common.
