Someone I know well and work with every day has it. Shit is real for me, but then it's felt real for over a month now

The real kicker is, he saw a doctor. Doctor says, "In my medical opinion, you definitely have COVID, I've seen enough of it now to be sure. But we only have a few tests and you're young so I don't want to waste a test. Here's some steroids and a neb, come back if you get worse"

One of my not-on-Twitter friends asked if I wanted to hang today and I went “wait you are still meeting people?” I used to think that Internet/Twitter is a necessary-but-unhealthy influence in life but the contrast in informedness between those on and off Twitter is... alarming?

It is not that my not-on-Twitter friends are not taking this seriously but I think the difference is more about the level of internalization...where for those interacting with the “world” online it hit “real” quicker than those largely living life offline-but-with-online-aspects.

I'm feeling like this when I talk to AZ friends from North Jersey right now. They are really not ready for what's coming and still see it as "oh it'll be over soon if we just stay home a few weeks lol". I most definitely do not.

I just want to wait it out until we're in the "oh wait the virus has been extinguished with 0 new cases in the last 2 weeks" or "we have a vaccine!" time

It’s weird how the Chinese Virus mutated into the NY virus right before everyone in middle American learned how to say coronavirus...
