1/ I’m always confused when people say that their generalized thinking in terms of complex systems or evolutionary processes is some sort of skeleton key that grants them access and authority to any and all rooms.

3/ Learning to generalize from specifics so you can apply what you learned elsewhere is essential, of course! But mistakenly thinking a surprisingly sufficient rule in one context is sufficient in all of them is just...a form of mysticism.
