Now is a great time to get into Software Defined Radio (SDR)! Lots of WFH tech people, and we can turn it into a social thing. If anyone has experience here, I'd like some recs (Bonus points for those that lots of people can get and communicate with)

i think if you keep it under 300 ft it should be ok otherwise you need a ham license or something more -

Non-shitposty answer: For some frequencies, low-power/short-range transmit might be okay (see: your dollar-store ipod FM transmitter), but other frequencies it's an FCC violation regardless of power/range (e.g. most emergency frequencies)
