Hash collisions are mathematically rare. Mistakenly inferred subtweets are not. 280 characters isn't a lot. Contextual ambiguity is the take default.

I think it always is. For example, in public opinion polling, the not-so-astonishing thing is that on average, people mostly agree. It's just when you constrict a context to a particular issue or set of issues that polarization becomes obvious.
