Anyone have any good recent hard scifi reads they’d recommend?

Not recent, but "Terraforming Mars" by Kim Stanley Robinson?

Well I thought if Rendezvous with Rama could get a mention, anything was fair game. The Trikon Deception by Ben Bova? Greg Bear ("The Way" series, although I didn't rate Legacy that much).

I liked the concepts in The Way series, and the Jarts. Oh oh. David Brin. I'd highly recommend the Uplift series (starting with Sundiver). There's the original trilogy, ending in Uplift War. I've got the next three but *cough* they're still on the todo list. Earth is pants.
