I only remember how much I like to be hunched over a problem when I’m actually doing it. I don’t know why my ADHD rejects the sense memory.

I think that’s healthy. If you tend to get sucked into things, it’s probably best if there is a little hump to get over so you aren’t constantly being sucked into distractions.

For me, getting sucked into Twitter produces a fun-house version of the flow/trance state I think you're describing. That's why it's so easy for me to end up here instead of in the productive alternative.
