There are lots of great languages and you should use whatever works for you (and your use case) but holy hell do I love #python.
Yea, I was never a big C++ fan. The STL/Templating seemed like a kludge built upon a tower of kludges. But I do remember that feeling, too. And Cython gets you surprisingly far when you need to scratch that performance itch.

pybind11 is my hammer of choice these days for integrating with C/C++ code. I always felt like the most modern evolutionary changes for C++ was a convoluted/clunky attempt to keep up with script language-like features, but without any of the readability or conciseness of python.
