T’s game is incredibly obvious. I don’t understand the appeal of pretending not to get it. If people vote a dog into power, they’re going to quickly tire of your Op Eds about what a breach of decorum it is that he keeps shitting on the lawn.

Now I don’t know at what level of discourse we’re disconnected lol. I mean that it’s clear Trump’s statements cannot be taken literally. Attacking them at the object level just looks increasingly naive. He’s an entertainer. A showboater. He can’t be beaten with

Ah yes — you nailed it. That is the primary reason why conservatives pretend not to get it. “It’s just words.” “He’s just trolling.” As if the POTUS deliberately weilding power by means of maximizing polarization was fine, actually. God-tier delusions.

Okay I see. When I say “pretend not to get it” I mean liberals who make the
face every time he says something outrageous.
We *all know* he’s a unqualified blowhard. It’s not shocking.
Biting the bullet on being trolled will never work. That’s just begging for 4 more years.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

He’s executing an exploit. Telling everyone “stop being exploited” tries to patch society instead of the persistent and easily identifiable Malory. Nonsense.

If I pointed a gun at your gun, you’d be dumb not to duck. If I pulled the trigger and laughed knowing it was unloaded, the threat was still real.

I agree that constant amplification works in his favor — that’s the whole exploit. And strategically it is better to set the agenda instead of responding to it. But that’s not to feasible (although it’s a problem I’m trying to help with)

That’s why it’s “seriously” but not “literally”. Currently Trump points a toy gun. Everyone knows it’s a toy gun. Liberals take a dive and act appalled. The common man rolls their eyes. You don’t need to pull out your own toy gun. But you need to continue with business.

People not threatened “know it’s a toy gun.” His base wants him to load it. It is appalling. And his aids even took the Greenland “troll” seriously.

That was one of his better ideas imo. I’m a US voluntary expansionist. We should be offering Greece statehood with that highway money
