If it's been in the shade/away from a window it should probably be in brighter sunlight. Also, Tillandsia collect their nutrients from atmospheric washout & labile solutes pulled from canopy leaves, i.e. they probably need supplemental chems if your water is relatively safe for u

I’m wondering if you shifted to filtered water - something from an RO system and misted 2-3 times per week. I don’t have any firsthand experience with bromeliads, but my orchids are so much happier in an east window and watered by ice cubes.

One a week? We were a bit concerned that the water at our previous place had a lot of additives that might have done something. Like, the water was chemically treated for hardness to such a degree that it tasted bad and was a far deeper blue than it should be.

Overwatering it? Looks like it’s rotting at the base. Pot it up with 50/50 sand & compost mix. Let it dry out completely before watering each time. Good luck
