Hot take: I don't know the history of usage so this may be very off base but it seems like the antagonism around the word "globalism" makes people almost universally miss good points about control. (It's really similar to "federalism" in that sense.)
(Again, fundamentally, this is something I don't understand. I've never studied it and most of my readings have been at a popsci level. But it's just bonkers to me that this rhetorical collision zone exists.)
