That said, how cool is it that no matter how much you screw up, you can always find a way to fix things in Ubuntu without having to lose any data!?
Windows' solution was to always reinstall Windows

i have several apps that generate gigantic log files and the solution is to clear them out and then use logrotate to keep them manageable thereafter.
