Since I run across a discussion even less often: I can sometimes and others not, determine which eye is experiencing the rainbows (it’s easier if/when the blind spot has achieved a wide arc of the view).

Yep. Sounds like what I experience. I’m now 30 minutes in so the nom-existent vision area is now shimmering light to be followed by a massive headache

Yea, roughly same too. I get that image effect afterwards. During the initial event, my brain doesn't know I should have vision -- it's just nothing with no aware of any absense. (I usually realize it when I bump into things or realize my face is an inch from the screen)
