My JanusGraph insert performance on a remote server accessed via TinkerPop in Scala is just... ...fucking insanely slow. I'm doing something wrong.

I got seduced by Janus having a lot of hosted / managed solutions already (esp. via gcloud/bigtable) so I thought, well, those underlying storage engines are granite solid -- I'll do that. Now it feels so painfully enterprise heavy.

I think it's probably faster for me to maintain histories in cassandra but use @dgraphlabs (hello again) for the live queries. JanusGraph has too many parts for me to reason over and I don't really like TinkerPop at all.
