I love popsci. Really, I do — I've written about it. But lately I've been thinking that "well, actually" born of popsci spelunking is symptomatic of how many authors present knowledge at the rhetorical intersection of recently acquired, comprehensive, and incontrovertible.

#scicomm game is weak, so I'm not going to pretend I know about this deeply. But the communicators I always enjoyed the most...didn't really do that?
