I love popsci. Really, I do — I've written about it. But lately I've been thinking that "well, actually" born of popsci spelunking is symptomatic of how many authors present knowledge at the rhetorical intersection of recently acquired, comprehensive, and incontrovertible.

The more you learn, the more you realize you (& sometimes the entire field) DON’T know, so I think it is common for ppl who know a lot to feel they know very little & vice versa.
