To me, magic means doing things that have the power to shape reality. Many of them can’t be found in a peer-reviewed journal or taught at public school. You gotta try and experiment for yourself.

In the anthropology of religion, magic is often an explanation given to otherwise inexplicable forces. I know that a rock sits unless kicked so if I see a rock tumble I look to the animal that kicked it or the wind. Lacking other explanations, it’s magical; earthquakes are magic.
