Cassandra is supposed to be blisteringly fast for writes. My 25mil record insert is still running from overnight. So, yea...this learning curve will be steper than I want. (Actually, I think it's the python client that's slow?)

Fast write performance is one of the core tenants of
#apachecassandra and has been proven many times over the years. My gut feel is something is off (data model, disk, etc...?) if writes are slow. Maybe post your question here -> https://community.datastax.com to get an expert answer. -
