The semi-funny part about this is I'm just going to wander through my apartment building looking for a stranger to ask if I can use their car to jump mine. (Except I have literally zero basic tools here, so I suspect it's the alternator.)

Yep. Def gonna go to autozone this weekend to put one together. Just checked the trunk -- there's not even a tire iron, so yea, all things considered, having it fail at home is a lucky scenario.
