Said differently, social proof affords some people exceptional agenda setting power. They become cultural Schelling points. Social network architectures tend to render such dynamics concrete -- and, very often, pathologically sclerotic.https://twitter.com/generativist/status/1173988670669377536 …

At this point I have 16k followers. Know why? It's because I'm EXTREMELY online. I hope I say interesting/funny things, but the main reason is because I spend a lot of time on here. But how often do people see / react to my tweets as if I'm/they're authoritative. Too often.

I did a lot of scribbling about these things over the summer (mostly too half-baked to share w/ anyone else). This one quote from Hit Makers (which I read years ago) kind of catalyzed it all for me: "A one-to-one-thousand conversation is not a conversation. It is a presentation")pic.twitter.com/9VcEN0k2Is

@GoodNotesApp! I'm still a pen-and-paper girl to the bone, but I really like it for when I'm reading ebooks. Like, there is no ebook reader that allows for rich marginalia , and I need arrows, and my own little weird version of italics.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like
If I'm ever in a position to fund stuff, I think I want to just give you a buttload of money to build me incredible reading tools.
