I had 0 hour in middle school and we started it off watching “Channel 1”. That show spurred an interest in broadcast journalism which led to a group of us establishing the need for funding the courses in high school. We got the class, eqpt, and coolest teacher in the universe.

I took zero period all 4 years of high school. I also worked weekends starting at—you guessed it—7AM. In SoCal, we didn’t get snow days, but school holidays were basically all Christmas to me.pic.twitter.com/qB94UoTyAL

During grade 11, one of the other high schools in town had a fire so they made use\ time share with them and it meant we had to start school at 7 am and skip lunch.

Ours was for time share too, just from overcrowding though

Boulder high schools just shifted this year to start at 8:30am (and end later). Finally someone follows the scientific literature about teenager diurnal cycles!

That's awesome to hear! I'm so tired of hearing that school needs to start so early because of HS football - such a misplaced priority. And the middle school bus comes through my neighborhood at 6:30 AM which is criminal.

We had zero period for marching band practice, so, it was just for the band.

I'm mobilising at 0630 tomorrow to get somewhere in another timezone 90 minutes drive away by 0700, something to that. Client values it. Being the guy who can show up when others can't is a value proposition of its own.
