Have you maybe compared it to a VS Code fully kitted towards Go?

I haven’t. I’m coming from tux/vim. I switched after spending a weekend exploring and being impressed with pycharm.

Then I might be able to help you. You can see some of the features the IDE has if you read some of of our articles here https://blog.jetbrains.com/go/ , especially those in the Tutorial section https://blog.jetbrains.com/go/category/tutorial/ … And if you tried PyCharm, then GoLand should feel the same.

Feel free to ping me, or my colleagues, and we'll be happy to help out with any questions. If you do end up comparing them, it would still be interesting to know your thoughts on them.

Thanks! I worked through [this] course for PyCharm, which was useful. Given the similarities, it's proved portable! https://training.talkpython.fm/courses/explore_pycharm/mastering-pycharm-ide …
