Wait until e-books are for old people who need the text blown up and paperbacks are the new vinyls. I’ve got a newborn kid and it’s kind weird to think that club music and iPhones will be old people stuff by the time she grows up.

Owning books CAN be snobby - like people who brag about how many they have, or are aghast that others choose to own few or none. I suspect there's also some correlation between owning a lot of books and having stable living arrangements or even owning property.

Like, if you're in a position where there's a non-zero chance you'll have to move to a new flat via public transit in the next few years, you're probably less likely to accumulate a ton of books.
