Every time I visit NJ it feels like life. I mean, biologically — everything is green and wet and thriving and smells alive. California always feels liked baked death.
Ah makes sense. I guess is what you grow up with. The absence of seasons feels too static for me — like something vital is missing.

I’ve feared this with moving to California—will I miss the sweet relief of fall too much? ...yes but my lungs can’t take these long fucking winters anymore. I get so sick and I know how we all feel about productivity talk, but that’s the thing...I can’t afford winter income loss

Hell, there’s also a pleasant fall season in Northern California - also, if you’re in California, you can always visit fall and winter in the mountains with a short drive.

TBF California does get green as hell, it just happens for a briefer period in winter when it rains
