People who work AT SCALE (tm): Can you think of any situation where backend performance or consistency considerations affected the design of interactions on the front-end in a way that introduced something like a human anti-pattern you eventually discovered well after the fact?
Hrm...Heard of any big cases where the trader...idk, acted on top of the book instead of looking at full depth that wasn’t sent first?

Not really, algos had started taking over by the time I got into that industry anyway, so extra clicks is the only UI problem that wasn't a symptom of a bigger problem (using UIs to compete with machines).
