I tried fdupes but settled on rmlint instead https://rmlint.readthedocs.io/ great set of options and easy to manipulate outputs (sh and json output)

This might be perfect for me.... I'm guessing the output would be useful for, say, getting to one canonical copy of a file, but noting the path of other copies? (I went through a phase where I thought directories were for tagging things)
