Like, I’m super aware of feral hogs right now and you are too for just the most inane of reasons. By Thursday, I won’t remember hogs exist. The future will forget our high-entropy now just as fast but at a different scale.

I think "now" will be so horrible and hard for most to conceptualize as "real" and read in context with everything else, that it will end up like a paragraph in high school books. Like Spanish Flu, or women dying in large numbers bc their hoop skirts caught on fire while cooking.

Maybe. But I can remember how people talked about both Carter and Reagan. And I’ve seen the discourse correct itself (slowly) over the years. Information moves a lot faster now.
