I think the @GOP is still operating under the assumption of "everyone will be so exhausted from all the terrible things we did, that @TheDemocrats will win and 'return to normal' and we'll get away with it all." But I think we may have passed the anger threshold for that.https://twitter.com/kylegriffin1/status/1156957966073049090 …

Think about the near-term looming and likely realized threats: climate change, a sugar high economy, escalating migration. Normal isn't a probable future. Anger will persist. Captain senile edgelord and the
@GOP collaborators won't be just a convenient targets, but obvious ones.Show this thread -
The alternative, of course, is Trump wins and these risks are realized, and he's able to paint other targets as villains. That's a whole different kind of threat.

It isn't always a bad thing. When one group changes the rules unilaterally you can't keep playing by the old rules if you can't enforce them, and clearly Dems can't do that. Tit for tat is often required to make the case for rules.

Absolutely, which is why I'll cheer them on. The
@GOP is the way it is in part because the Democrats are laughably not a credible threat. They need to correct that. But, at the same time, I think the system will already be extremely unstable so...it's hard.

I remember when Graham was a hawkish, moderate known for having a strong spine to stand up to the excesses of the GOP. It has only been 4 years since that guy ran for president. What happened to him?
-
No clue. But I don't think it was so much of a change as being revealed.
