Every day I spend on this website, useful and hard-earned knowledge gets squeezed out for some incomprehensible nonsense, a great deal of which is produced by the leaders of the party running this country.pic.twitter.com/clGfm9ljQD

Twitter's KPI is outrage, even if de facto (outrage = eyeballs, etc.). I need to remind myself of that fact regularly.

After
#DWebCamp I finally decided to start getting more serious about building more elaborate / robust mute-block systems, so maybe it will take some of the cognitive load :)1 reply 1 retweet 3 likes -

You may already be working on this but seems worth mentioning (just in case): expanding my list of mute-words has cut down on the amount of stressful content (even when shared by people I like and generally want to hear from.) I still read the news, but more intentionally now.

Yea, that's mostly what I'm working on — a secondary graph to propagate for mutes and blocks (with optional user interaction, but very low friction).

Abstractly: Following someone grants them write permissions to your attention. Having a conversation does the same. But, on twitter, it's one-to-many, so its not tailored to you. I want to add a layer that helps narrow the granted permissions.
