I am now using @bengrosser's Twitter Demetricator most of the time. (I'm also forking it as a base for something related.)

Don't get it. How do figure out who is worth listening to? Do you look at their avatar and try to guess their net worth?

Actually, this made me realize I'd like it to remove the blue check cues, too.pic.twitter.com/PukpZWI7fq

I agree, the blue checks should go but the tweet sent time indicators (37m or 2h etc) should come back. Everything's so out of order on my timeline that I use those to avoid jumping into stale conversations or duplicating replies

Seriously though.
@generativist ... How does it feel compared to baseline? Seems like it would be your ideal way of interacting with Twitter.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
It makes me *very* aware of how much I rely on those cues for evaluating the tweets of strangers.

Doesn't this potentially put you more at the mercy of whatever tweets Twitter selects for you to see?

Potentially, yes. But I think it mostly reshapes what I interact with in a positive way.

Cool. Sounds like an experiment worth trying.

Yep. Even for a day alone, it's a good perceptual experiment.
