I don’t know how I feel about programming bootcamps because my autodidactic method was mostly a consequence of having access to a computer and some books during an early age. What I do know is that people with similar biographies who talk shit about them should generally stfu.

I generally agree with this though I wish there were more examples of good programs. I wonder if high wages for software engineers & managers is keeping great potential teachers out of these sorts of roles?

I looked at teaching at our CC part or full-time and the pay for a PT class-load was close to minimum wage if you factored in any reasonable amount of prep/grading work. FT salaries were in the $50k/year range.
