We are currently in an age of first principles. The very fundamentals are in dispute: truth, science, freedom, happiness, moral good. We grapple with the coming of intelligent machines and gigantic social networks. Everywhere, I see arguments to be made and systems to be built.

Yea I think that’s where I feel it the most. People have this weird perception of academics as documentarians but it’s really just people who need to explore, almost compulsively.
