I generally think *stereotyping* is built in and useful. The biases are priors over identities. But when manipulated, it creates these super-identities that induce catastrophic errors. Which is why I like your stuff because you try to focus on the manipulations.
And I think @LilyMasonPhD’s book does a great job of showing these higher order identities (I forget what she called them, maybe “mega identities) distort US politics,
