1/ I've come around to the idea that likes injected into my feed are good or at least not all bad. They've helped me find good content and discover people I want to follow. But I *also* want a private "appreciation" signal.

2/ Like, I occasionally get DMs / people who say, "I really appreciated [tweet] but I couldn't like it publicly because [often reasonable fear]." I want private, frictionless likes to surface those instances more readily.

I don't think the actual count of such private likes would need to be private, just the identity? Unless someone has very few followers, at least, where reasonable guesses might be possible.

Yea, i think it's reasonably easy to infer good guesses but the costs of those aren't expensive (probably.)
