Hardest part of twitter (for me, anyway). When it's clear that some entity is playing a game for their benefit at the expense of the information environment, I want to attenuate their signal. Habit decreases the need for/cost of willpower. But you have to cultivate the stimulus and response patterns i.e. in context A with stimulus X, I will always respond with fixed action pattern Y. And reward yourself after until the action happens naturally!

It does...but I don't think it's a very useful or generalizable Rx for social media. Patching a design flaw with an individual behavioral policy seems untenable, at least w.r.t. reducing the platforms harms.

Some design flaws are due to being human tho. This really sucks. You cannot think for people, but you can hijack their arguments and amplify the better signals.
