I can’t express how much I hate everything about cars. Being in them; driving them; maintaining them. The whole thing.

Like, I think there is a sizable number of people on here who think love for trains and light rail is an economic position and a social signal. This isn’t that. Cars are terrible. Why would I want to spend my energy and attention on transportation when I can just sit instead.

I was carless all through college and didn't mind (much), but the college experience is uniquely conducive to carlessness. Other than that I've always wanted one, even in places with relatively good transit...

Driving in SF is a pain, but it's easier (if you already like driving) to see that as the city's fault than as the car's fault. & I'm just not sold on "rent a car every time you want to go to Yosemite"...
