When I hear stories like this now, I immediately think of the people surrounding the dreamer and the sacrifices they often have to make for a dream that isn't theirs. This doesn't negate Antonio's point. And I still romanticize the dreamers role. But my focus has become…blurred? https://twitter.com/antoniogm/status/1143988913846943744 …

The fucked up thing about that thought is that — best I can tell — that makes the probability of my success in entrepreneurial ventures less likely. The restricted vision that sets your objectives as singular seems to help you go much farther. I hope I'm wrong though.

Kinda a lot of extrapolating for a tweet about someone following her dreams to become a pilot, I know. And I sincerely hope she does it! But, I was just reading The Hard Thing About Hard Things before reading Antonio's tweet so yea...chain of thought custody. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I haven't done *actual* research on the topic, but... From all the snippets of biographical info I've absorbed over time, It seems like ultra-high achievement and a stable, balanced, healthy interpersonal life only *very* rarely occur together.

Kinda why I like @dhh and @jasonfried's whole message. I don't know them so it's not like I can really evaluate it, but at least their prescribing balance over sociopathy.
