How is it that a prestigious doctor's office doesn't save records (@ColumbiaMed)? I've had to see a neuro-ophthalmologist for some damage to my eye since 2005. My doctor passed away a few years ago. I didn't know. Now I have none of the images to monitor progression.
That part I get. The remarkable part: Why would the records NOT be *all* sent to me?!

Hm, that I'm not sure of. I know that when we had big file purges in the office where I used to work, we were destroying 100s of charts, some of patients that hadn't been seen in more than 10 years. It would have been nearly impossible to send them all
