I am always so pleasantly surprised by how much performance you can get by cythonizing one or two hotspots in your Python code.

I mostly use numba anywhere there is numpy code. It's pretty great. Today's use case was ingesting some data and packing it into this semi-compacted data structure that was a pain to do with pickle or matrix-efficient code. But yea, 99% of the time, I just numba ;)
