💥 (wannabe) Ƀreaker of (the Bad) Loops 💫 @generativistIt's really depressing how often I have the thought, "we know how to help people make less error-prone, stereotyped evaluations; it's not complicated; but, doing so makes mediums less engaging and by implication profitable, so they'll always be dominated."1 reply 0 retweets 8 likesShow this thread -

4/ There are things I want to do. The idealist in me keeps trying to ignore...economic/ecological realities. But, the eyes-open me pushes for awareness.

5/ Lately, I've been a bit enamored with the way
@dhh &@jasonfried's partnership seems to work (from what I remember back when I did rails work.) Clearly they're both astute at building products. But the division of labor seems like a good one.2 replies 0 retweets 3 likesShow this thread -
6/ But, at this point, I don't have a strong relationship or work history with anyone on the product / business development side of things. And, very much like dating, I think it's a struggle to find a build a strong one.

7/ So, I'm a bit stuck, albeit while trying to push forward. Do I continue trying to learn more on my own? Do I need to pay a tuition in experience on it myself? Can I find a partner(s) without worrying about being exploited. All hard problems. And I don't have the solution.

I'm a product manager and my MBA was in marketing and business analytics. The PDF "7 summits" on this page is an excellent book for your situation as it does a great job bridging data science with product and marketing problems.https://fisher.osu.edu/academic-departments/marketing-logistics/7-summits-marketing-research …

It's one of the few books where you may see brand preference and eigenvector in the same sentence, lol. Check it out and let me know your thoughts!

I was in the same boat as you but from the opposite perspective. I started w/ the business side and went back to school to learn the data science aspects. Having the two opposite skill sets has been incredibly valuable!
