Twitter arguments make me think: "the point here is that officialese became his language because he was genuinely incapable of uttering a single sentence that was not a cliche" Combined with lack seeing from outside perspectives, twitter is certainly the scary kind of banal.

I think it's def possible by a weird combo of: 1. Increasing useful affective noise (ducks are cute); 2. Inhibiting the propagation of content that's mostly signaled group membership masquerading as a substantive argument.

Exactly why I’m so much more into tweeting my own world, whether that be food, cats, traveling, books, fleeting thoughts than engaging with arguments and debates. They’re exhausting in their lack of depth/insight/sophistication and their futility. And I’m getting too old to care.

Same, I've largely given up on the 'serious' side of twitter, just use it for fun and promotion. Anything else is just stressful and usually pointless.
