2/ A specific consequence: The probability of someone seeing your feed is a non-linear function of your follower count. The social network does the information processing via homophily and preferential attachment.

3/ Like, it's always weird when someone complements what I curate (when non-shitposting). I *am* flattered because: ego. But then I remember how I'm basically just the final filter in the process, and it says less about me than it does twitter's architecture.
