Generics are the only medications available for the largest share of the world's population. Like in every realm of life, there are a variety of quality levels, but all of them get a huge amount of pressure from big corporations.

WHO'S 45th report (and to some extent the 37th) sets a standard so high, it will kill the pharmaceutical companies that are stubborn enough to expect making money on generics. I wish someone looked into the unwanted effects of such a move.
