I'm reaching a follower size where keeping up with mentions is starting to consume a lot of time but I feel obligated to and also benefit from doing so tremendously. It's disorienting and I bet having a real big account is like being stretched in two.

Like, I'm not complaining. It's *really* rewarding and gives me sooooo many largely unearned advantages (via a preferential attachment mechanism). But, it's not something I would have ever properly anticipated.
