My two cents: Follow the most beautiful accounts you can find on Instagram. It's a visual medium, afterall. I like all the national park accounts, interior designers, ceramicists, flower growers, and architects. I only follow a small handful of people because comparison is toxic.

Yea. Right now I just have friends and a few scicomm people. But I recently learned how incredible wildlife photography is on there. I’m always so behind the trend :p

It’s def different. I struggle with science twitter and find science insta easier. I like writing the story/info with the associated picture

I look at Instagram maybe 4 times a year, so I don't understand it either. I followed you (I'm bobkerns) to see how your experiment goes. I suppose I should figure out what "reaching out" means there...

It seems the first two items on my feed today are people's feet. One in socks and sandals observing a dead bird (window strike, probably) and the other, walking observing it's a nice day, but just feet on concrete sidewalk. Friend's feet, but still...
