Can someone make a disappearing highlighter for first pass reads? Like, one that...idk, evaporates after an hour, but can be rendered permanent with a second pass fixing hightlighter? This is not a billion dollar idea, but you would certainly take my money.

You could use those Frixion pens, they erase w/ friction, but you can microwave the book and it will erase the lines.

My eyes are shit so I have to make it darker than erases sometimes. But this is kinda like that (apocryphal) jokes about nasa spending millions on a space pen when the reassigns used a pencil

Maybe an AR highlighter app for use with AR glasses. It would be easier with hiro+qr markers printed on the physical pages, but nothing a simple matter of image recognition can't solve, haha.

Someone above already had this idea but... yeah, you can get pens that write in ink that is only visible under UV light + a little UV torch, think they were originally invented for security tagging things.
