Concurrency is hard to reason about and I have no intuition for it (yet).

Synchronisation, timing, latency etc are strange beasts. Difficult to debug. The material headaches are made of. IMHO better to carefully consider each situation than to rely on intuition

Oh yea, that makes sense. But part of the intuition I'm talking about is knowing what generally works where and what makes for a good first pass that allows for lots of outs in refactoring.
