I learned programming in Wyoming, not orally from others. This just means they learned on their own by reading. Something to be very proud of, definitely not ashamed. Even if the cool kids pronounce it different.

I think that’s often the case. Most of my education has come from books, and I still constantly mispronounce things. But the conversation was about Package Registry and it was in a Silicon Valley town, so I think it’s more GIF vs jIF.
